Probably the easiest trick when it comes to preserving garden herbs. Herb-Olive-Oil-Cubes are incredibly tasty and you have a piece of summer in your food every time. Not to mention the great nutrients, which aren't diminished by freezing. Have fun preserving!
INGREDIENTS (for approx. 15 cooking cubes)
1 handful of garden herbs
(thyme, parsley, basil, oregano etc.)
approx. 1 cup olive oil
Ice cube mould
Wash garden herbs thoroughly and cut finely with a sharp knife.
Divide the chopped herbs into the hollows of an ice cube mould and pour olive oil over them.
Freeze the ice cube tin for at least 24 hours. Now you can use one cube each for cooking, simply take out the frozen cube and put it in a pan. So you have your delicious garden herbs ready for every meal. Bon Epi-tit !
