Cooking Meeting, here's the name program. The Cooking Meeting founded by NEFF, is a relaxed evening event where guests can conjure up a selected menu together with a cook. The NEFF appliances are the heart of the gourmet kitchen, so guests can get to know new functions as they like. (At our KochTreff a few of the guests came across the vacuum cleaner and had the device explained to them immediately, while they were busy cooking pears and pureeing the dessert.) Well, we've cooked an autumnal menu together with bloggers and the press in the NEFF's gourmet kitchen. Our guests were extremely committed and from the very beginning they "threw" their equipment and worked diligently on it. There was a beetroot soup with ginger and coconut milk as starter, homemade sweet potato gnocchi with sage chanterelles as main course and a chestnut cream with poached pears as dessert. Of course we have brought the recipes with us for you to cook yourself.
Let's get back to NEFF. As you know, we have been cooperating with the innovation brand of the BSH Group for a few months now. The devices are for us Foodies the absolute hammer and have definitely become the heart of our show kitchen in Munich. NEFF would now say "pleasure cuisine" and we find that quite enchanting, because the epi-food cuisine is just as full of pleasure, flavours and creativity. We are very proud to have a partner like NEFF to give you great recipes as well as tricks and tips for cooking and baking. WIN WIN WIN
And the best: You can now win 2 seats (incl. a friend) for such a wonderful NEFF KochTreff in Munich in 2019!!! Just leave us a comment on Instagram and/or on this blogpost (Attention double chance of winning ;D!) and follow neff_deutschland and us on Instagram.

Everyone who knows us knows how much we love to test restaurants. On our Travel Munich Blog we always have new tips for you. But now a dear follower has asked us if we would like to name our favourite restaurants here in Munich. Et voilà, today I present you the restaurants of my choice. Of course this list will soon be completed with photos and some more info will follow, but for now I have this little list for you. We would be happy if you share your culinary experiences in Munich with us, because we are always hungry for new restaurants! PS: That's certainly not all of them, but all of them that came to my mind in a few hours...... more to come !!!! BEST OF ASIAN FOOD 1. Matsuhisa im Mandarin Oriental Hotel | JAPAN Neuturmstraße 1, 80331 Munich Incredibly good shashimi, but at a high price. The little Nobu sister is definitely not for the small purse, but on marble tables a Bento box with champagne you can treat yourself to on your birthday or a special occasion. By the way, the Mandarin Oriental has a beautiful roof terrace with a great view over Munich, where you can enjoy a drink or two. 2. An thu | VIETNAM Kurfürstenstraße 31, 80801 Munich The classic one of the Vietnamese restaurants in Munich and among Vietnamese lovers also called "Best Vietnamese of Munich". We love the summer roles to roll by ourselves. As a starter a Pho Bo or the soft shell crabs, yummy! Solid price-performance ratio and always a good idea for an evening for two or for your first date! Reservation recommended! 3. Cochinchina | VIETNAM Kaiserstraße 28, 80801 Munich An thus "sister" in Bogenhausen offers the same card as An thu in Schwabing. Beautiful interior and also a good lunch location, of course also for a business lunch. For celebrations there is a separeé. The price-performance ratio is absolutely solid, just like in An thu. 4. Izakaya | JAPAN FUSION Landsberger Str. 68, 80339 Munich Hotel, party, red room, bar, loud music, all these words can be heard about the Izakaya. The Roomers Hotel on Landsberger Straße is definitely a special location for a high priced restaurant. An absolute must go for the trendy people in Munich at the weekend, because here you will always find one or the other "Bussi-Bussi" people. Joking aside, Izakaya has really unbelievably good dishes and merges European (especially French) with Japanese cuisine. By the way, some celebrities celebrate their birthdays here in the Red Room behind the bar. As expected, the interior is perfect for the owner's plans and of course there's also a lot of drinking (our favourite: sake, best if you can't read a word on the label ;D). 5. Shoya | JAPAN Frauenstraße 18, 80469 Munich Tuna Don & Salmon Don, our lunch at the Shoya is often called. The little Japanese guy at the corner of Platzl (by the way, for once no Schuhbeck shop) offers a great lunch and the Miso soup is according to my boyfriend the best in town. Honest and simple interior complement each other here with classically good Japanese cuisine. The price-performance ratio is adapted and good. 6. Enter the dragon | VIETNAM FUSION Lenbachpl. 1, 80333 Munich Street Food Shop, Karaoke Bar, Restaurant & Club. The operators have set themselves a huge project here and only recently the shop has opened. So we tried our way through almost the whole menu and found it very tasty. So try the Pomelo salad & the soft shell crabs with sauces for dipping. For dessert you should share the Hong Kong waffle (the sesame ice cream in it tastes super good). Great shop for large groups, families or parties. The interior with some design classics is really something to be proud of, because we get a real Vietnam feeling in it. 7. Bami House | VIETNAMESE STREET FOOD Türkenstrasse 21, 80799 Munich We simply like the interior: the small colourful plastic chairs, the colourfully painted wood & the polas on the wall. The street food gives us a little student feeling, because right in Maxvorstadt this is the main clientele of the Bami House. If you meet there be careful, because there are two bamis in Maxvorstadt in Schellingstraße and in Türkenstraße. BEST OF ORIENTAL FOOD 1. Beirut Beirut | LIBANESE Valleystraße 28, 81371 Munich The Beirut Beirut is rather a snack stall with beer benches in front of the door, but to be honest who makes such good Lebanese cuisine needs absolutely no good interior. The Falafel is gigantic and Hummus as well as the Baba Ganoush (with smoked aroma) is incredibly tasty. So this place is an insider tip in Sendling & the "journey" with the subway there is absolutely worth it! Oh yes, the turmeric cake is also delicious! 2. Sababa | SHAWARMA Westenriederstraße 9, 80331 Munich Known as the city's best falafel, the snack bar at Viktualienmarkt is a real hot tip for Munich's city centre. The owner has told us that he even lets the bread fly in shock-frozen from Israel (we don't believe him, but we forgive anyone who makes such good food, haha!). 3. Spice Bazaar | ORIENTAL Marstallpl. 3, 80539 Munich From Turkish, Lebanese to Israeli cuisine, the Spice Bazaar has a colourful selection of dishes. Although the ceviche doesn't really fit the concept, we find it really delicious & just like sitting out there. I advise you to order only starters, they are really delicious, unfortunately we missed the main courses. The large square is also great for children, because it's not directly on the street like many pubs in Munich. The price-performance level is moderate. 4. Neni | ISRAEL Bahnhofpl. 1, 80335 Munich As we know from Berlin, the Neni moved in here together with the 25hours Hotel in Munich. Directly at the main station contrasts collide. While we sit in the café at noon - we love the interior! - we look out of the window and see drunks, ticks and homeless people. Apart from that the food is really good, the price-performance ratio is partly moderated. Here you can have a great birthday party or a tasty meal before going on to the club. BEST OF GREEK FOOD 1. Taverna Melina Merkouri Maistraße 26, 80337 Munich open Mo-Sun 5pm - 1am The new Mollos has really tasty dishes. We love the starters and the farmer's salad. By the way, the starters come on small plates, which is really fun, because you can just try them out. Those who like to drink can take the subway and get off directly at Goetheplatz. In summer you should book urgently, because the places outside are very popular! White interior meets blue flowered crockery & Mykonos flair. The price-performance ratio is also great. Ingenious for large groups or birthday parties. 2. Elia Herzogstraße 90, 80796 Munich Greek family flair meets authentic Greek cuisine. The Elia offers very good dishes with a good price-performance ratio. We often go there spontaneously, because the Elia is not a "trend" Greek and therefore not so super full of the usual suspicious Greeks. The interior is not particularly chic, but that is not necessary either. We often come here with the kids, they like it there very much. 3. Kalypso Agnesstraße 8, 80801 Munich One of the "Party"-Greeks (we call them "the Cavos"-Greekos), but in a quiet location and therefore the Family-Greeks in the party row. Here you should also reserve if you want to sit outside. The interior is similar to Melina Merkouri's and reminds of a beach holiday in Greece. Also here the small appetizers come on plates, wonderful to share. Children also feel at home here and are welcome. My boyfriend can highly recommend the lemon chicken to you, he loves it there. 4. Kreta Grill Nordendstraße 60, 80801 Munich Absolutely popular in Maxvorstadt is the Crete Grill. Directly at the Nordendstraße you can watch the tram outside and enjoy the Munich cosiness. The food is authentic and very good. Please make sure you make a reservation, as the Greek is slightly smaller than the ones mentioned above and therefore quickly booked out. An absolutely good place for a girls evening for two or three! BEST OF VEGGIE / VEGAN 1. Grattitude Türkenstraße 55, 80799 Munich Simple interior in the middle of Türkenstraße in Maxvorstadt is our favorite vegan of the city, the Grattitude. Innovative dishes, absolutely yummy with a clear conscience. Make a reservation! 2. Kismet Löwengrube 10, 80333 Munich The Kismet could also be in the list of Oriental Food, because here you get vegetarian & vegan Tajine. The pomegranate drink with cinnamon is really delicious. You should reserve a table in the back room, where you pass the kitchen. The bar in the upper part of the restaurant has great drinks and is great for pre-drinking BEST OF MEAT 1. Ruffs Burger Rindermarkt 6, 80331 Munich Spelt rolls, regional meat, we just like it and sometimes treat ourselves to a burger or two here. The truffle fries are also super delicious. There are Ruffs in the Occamstraße as well as in the Türkenstraße. 2. Zum goldenen Kalb Utzschneiderstraße 1, 80469 Munich Directly at the Viktualienmarkt you will find one of THE city's steak shops, the "Goldene Kalb." If you like steak, you should eat here. 3. Theresa Grill Theresienstraße 29, 80333 Munich Very popular in Maxvorstadt, the Theresa also has a very nice bar! Good meat, good wine at modern prices. In the courtyard you also sit very nicely! 4. The Grill Lenbachpl. 8, 80333 Munich Velvet furniture and elegant flair can be found on the 1st floor of the Künstlerhaus: The Grill. Of course you can eat wonderful steak here. The atmosphere is a bit older than in the Theresa Grill, so we like to go there with the family (and of course we are invited directly, haha!). 5. Spatenhaus at the Opera House
Residenzstraße 12, 80333 Munich A Munich original and definitely belongs on our list: The Spatenhaus. Here you can also sit outside with the view of the "Maxi" (Maximilianstraße) and the opera house. The prices are moderate. the duck is really good.
Marys egg special with avocado
- Nordic coffee culture directly in the Au -
The Nordic café impresses with its great look! We sat on the wooden benches in front of the door and the front including waffles actually "beamed" us to Amsterdam. The small Café Josefina in Maxvorstadt surprises us
with an Epi breakfast offer in organic quality. The Café White Rabbits Room is inspired by the Rabbit Hole in Alice in Wonderland. It's easy to see from outside, because the pink chairs and tables catch our eye from far away. The interior is designed with great attention to detail, so we suspect an owner with great passion and love for children behind it. Because there are not only baby carriage parking lots, but also babyccino, toys for the little ones and a small "store" with a few interior things for mummy as well as dishes for the kids.
Organic coffee from Colombia, biodynamic wine from Austria, homemade bread & international cuisine were waiting for us at Kempers & Crowd.
Well, does it look delicious or does it look delicious?
We were invited to the Cotidiano at the Nordbad and were allowed to feast one morning long. Of course we want to tell you how we liked it there. I don't know how many times I've been asked: "Feli, tell me where I can go for a good brunch in Munich?" It took me a long time to write my favourite brunch bars together. They're all different and each of you has different demands. Well then, I'll try my hand at a small list of my favorites.
