"All beginnings are hard!" they always say.
But how hard it is to start running when you have absolutely no ambitions, some of us know only too well.
Before the first running session you might even be relatively motivated, but 10 meters later the world looks completely different again. Mostly because LANGWEILIG.
But "Where there is a will, there is a way", right?
I, Alex, took this saying to heart last year and designed a running plan that actually worked.
However, when I broke my leg at the end of last year, I couldn't go running for almost half a year and felt the effects of regular jogging on myself and my metabolism.
And here we come to the actual question of this blog post:
Why should you start running?
1. Fresh air floods your body with oxygen, stimulates your circulation and therefore your metabolism.
2. your digestion & appetite will improve with regular running sessions.
3. your mental health will be strengthened. It makes you happier, so to speak.
But that's not all:
Studies have also shown that it can prevent obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and many other diseases.
According to a study published in 2012 in Medicine and Science in Sports & Exercise, running 30 minutes a week for 3 weeks has improved sleep quality, mood and concentration during the day.
In 2015, a study in Neuropharmacology showed that running causes the same neurochemical adaptations in the brain's reward centre as some addictive drugs.
And last but not least, it helps you lose weight. :D
But the best thing about running is still that you don't need much and you can start right now. So get into your sports shoes and off you go. Nevertheless, we recommend that you do a running shoe analysis in a sports shoe store as soon as possible. That was a complete Game Changer for me. We also recommend pleasant headphones and a good playlist. With music you can switch off even better & the right music can give you a lot of motivation. If you should have pain while running, let someone give you professional or trained fitness trainer tips. We are also regularly improving our running style. If you are not convinced yet, you should just start. And if after 4 weeks of regular running there is still no feeling of happiness after running, you are welcome to write us.
