Urban Gardening is already well known to many people. Urban areas are used to create a usable green space. Above all the conscious consumption, the new love for regionality and also the longed-for closeness to nature are supporting fields of urban horticulture.
Projects like the "High line" in New York or the Prinzessinengarten in Berlin immediately come to mind. However, we only have to look around our neighborhood to observe this trend, which, by the way, has been around for a long time. We have informed ourselves about Munich projects and have come across Munich's "greencity". The city of Munich awards "bed sponsorships" (a two square metre green area) for one season. The beds are located in the grounds of the Bischweiler Municipal Tree Nursery in Sachsenstraße and can be applied for under "Essbare Stadt". Any Munich resident who does not have a garden can gather some experience here, exchange ideas with other gardeners and enjoy his harvest.
Railway keeper Thiel also surprises with his "Bahngarten". This garden is primarily not intended for edible plants, but as a green oasis and place for bees. The planned community beds will be planted by both the employees and volunteers of the railway garden. Here, too, you can sponsor a bed over the course of a season.
