Around Friedrichshain there are a lot of restaurants, cafés & bars.
Some are hardly noticeable and others really stand out.
So is the Chum & Friends .
The menu is decorated with a lot of love and a relaxo on it.
Heeeeeeelllooooooo... Pokémon GO sends his regards ✌︎☺︎
But not only the Pokémon fans get their money's worth with the card.
According to our taste, Chum & Friends is Asian fusion cuisine.
Not only that was our huge, shining arrow, which drew our attention to the restaurant, but also the furnishings.
Visually, the restaurant is quite something.
A lot of attention was paid to details. You can even sit on the floor on one side of the restaurant to eat.
On the one hand the atmosphere is reminiscent of London's Industrial Chic and on the other hand of a Streetfood-Saigon-Kitchen. Modern, chic & yet cosy.
But now to the important part:
The map reads superbly.
Deciding is definitely difficult.
No matter whether fish, meat or vegan, even gluten-free is in the offer.
And all this at prices that even a small wallet can afford.
Most dishes cost less than 10 €, at noon even less.
My decision fell quite clearly on the Bao Burger, whose burger rolls are steamed from rice flour. I have also been told that the meat is homemade, so it is not a packaged burger party.
The anticipation of the burger was certainly great.
For most dishes you can choose between sweet potato fries, taro fries or rice.
The food was served in the classic way on plates, as you know them from Vietnamese or Thai dishes.
The first dish was prawns with vegetables and sweet potatoes.
The arrangement was nothing special, except that sweet potatoes were on the plate instead of rice.
The vegetables were fresh and the shrimps looked good.
Since I have assumed that burgers are basically fried medium, I can tell you that this is not the case in Chum & Friends. Maybe I am the only person who has this opinion. So in any case, when ordering say to it.
The sauces on the burger are nothing outstandingly exciting. Only the burger buns make it something special.
All in all, the burger was still delicious.
